Emma
“Emma” is a 12 year old girl whose first year of middle school was filled with drugs and drinking. Innocence has been lost in more ways than one. When being in “Emma’s” presence there is a real darkness that comes off of her.
She attended our Campus Life program on and off throughout her 6th grade year. She had various one on one appointments with her small group leaders. During these appointments she made it very clear that she did not care what she did or where it lead her.
She attended camp with us this summer… mostly out of a desire to get away from home for a bit. At camp she confided in her leader and heard the gospel in a clear and concise manner. Many have been praying for her. She has such deep hurts in her life. At the end of the week she stated that she accepted Christ for the first time!
Keep praying for “Emma.” Pray that the seeds planted would take deep root in her life and that we would continue to walk beside her well.
Drake
“Drake” is a senior in high school who we met through our Campus Life program. Drake has a loving family and stable home. But Drake was never taken to church or introduced to Jesus. That is until he attended Campus Life. At Campus Life he heard the gospel and other truths about the ways Christ followers are called to live. This all intrigued him. This intrigue coupled with the feeling of inclusion he got from those involved in Campus Life led him to sign up for High School Camp.
At camp Drake was challenged to examine his life at a deeper level. He sat with scriptures and reflected on his habits. He was also immersed in relationships with peers and leaders who are committed to following Jesus. All these factors led Drake to accept Christ into his heart and become a follower of the One True God.
Praise God for the work he had done in “Drake’s” life. Please pray for him as we continue to encourage him in his new found faith!
Ren
“Ren” is a very bright girl who just finished her 9th grade year. Ren is cute and fun and easy to be around. But Ren also has hard parts to her story. Abandonment. Abuse. Rejection. Words like these could be used when telling her story.
But we want to share another part of her story. The part where she started coming to our Campus Life program. The part where she took a step of bravery by asking to meet with her leader. This part of her story, where she was vulnerable and open… well this part leads to the next part.
This next part is where she decided to sign up for camp to continue to explore faith. She kept diving deeper and deeper. And God grew her understanding of Him. He is so good like that.
At Camp Ren made the chose to become a Christ follower. She also decided to declare her faith openly by getting baptized. Continue to pray for “Ren.” Her story is far from over nd her hurts are still, sadly, far from healed.
